6 Houseplants You Can Keep Alive

If you’re looking to dabble a little in the world of houseplants but not sure where to start, start here! Today I’m sharing a handful of my favorite plants that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also easy to care for!

DRAGON (DRACAENA) TREE

Water: thrives on neglect...prone to root rot so water only when dry
Light: prefers bright indirect light, though they can survive in medium to low levels of light
Toxicity: can be toxic to pets

YUCCA PLANT (INDOORS)

Water: drought tolerant, water when top half of soil is dry
Light: thrives in full sun
Toxicity: can be toxic to pets

MONSTERA DELICIOSA

Water: allow soil to dry out between waterings
Light: prefers bright to medium indirect light; bright light can scorch leaves
Toxicity: can be toxic to pets

SPLIT LEAF

Water: water when top half of soil is dry
Light: medium to bright light; can survive in low light
Toxicity: very toxic to pets

05 DEVILS IVY

Water: keep moist but not soggy
Light: prefers bright indirect light but can also grow in low light
Toxicity: toxic to pets

DUMB CANE

Water: keep moist but not soggy
Light: bright indirect light- direct sun will scorch leaves
Toxicity: produces a sap that can be toxic to pets / kids
